FIRE IN THE EMPIRE

1.)Please introduce yourself to the readers.

Hi everyone, we are Fire In The Empire, a metal band from Chorley, UK, and we comprise of Mick McCullagh (Lead Guitar/Vocals), Terry Casey (Rhythm Guitar), Sam Gee (Bass), Dean Marshall (Drums).

FIRE IN THE EMPIRE

2.)History of the band

We have been together for around 2 years now, Terry and Mick, have known each other since school, and always played guitar together. We have known Sam (bass) for a number of years, and myself (Dean, drums) met through mutual friends. We started off playing alot of local shows in theNorth West of England, and over the past 12 months we have played at venues up and down the country.
DEAN- DRUMMER FOR FIRE IN THE EMPIRE

3)How did you guys come up with the name Fire In The Empire?
Fire In The Empire came about at a time when the country was in deep recession, people were losing their jobs, and the main politicians in the UK were found out to be claiming millions of poundsin expenses. Its basically a big F*** You, to the politicians who are supposed to be taking care of our economy and best interests

4).You stated on your band page, that youa re influenced by a few great bands,to name a few :METALLICA,PANTERA ,MEGADETH AND ANTHRAX,to what extent do their influences play a part  on your band's music?
First and foremost, we like to write music that we would enjoy playing ourselves.  Having grown up listening to Metallica, Pantera, etc, we find that we are more comfortable writing heavier material. I think that if you listen to us, you can definitely hear the catchy riffs of Metallica, combined with the rythmic drum beats of Pantera, so id say they do play quite a big part in our music, while trying to maintain an original sound.

MICK MCULLAGH-LEAD GUITARIST/VOCALS

5)Discography?
We recently released our debut EP earlier this year, To The Thinking Man's Horror.  We are set to record another EP early next year, as well as a full length album towards the middle/end of next year.

SAM GEE-BASSIST

6)Tell the readers where they can check out more of your band's music, updates and gig listing.
All the info on our band can be found on our facebook page www.facebook.com/fireintheempire or on twitter @fireintheempire

7).What are your songs about?
Our songs are based on a lot of different topics, Relationships, Politics, Frustration, Perserverance, Honesty.

8)Any plans to go on tour for 2013?
We're going on tour late January for around 5-6 weeks around the UK, leading up to our slot at Hammerfest 2013 alongside Hatebreed, Killing Joke, Napalm Death and loads more!

TERRY CASEY-RHYTHM GUTARIST

9)Last words before we wrap things up?

We'd just like to say a massive thanks to Projekt Mecha for taking the time to get in touch, and for their support.
Take it easy, and hopefully we'll see you in the pit sometime soon! F.I.T.E
