Projekt Mecha brings an inteview with ISuppose. An uprising rapper from Los Angeles and owner of a  production company. Just recently Isuppose and his crew has been doing a controversial tour called request your city, where he goes with his crew from City to City setting up shows. He's currently on Tour in Europe. This article was supposed to be out a while back, sorry for the delay and we hope you still enjoy the article.

1)Hey Chuck welcome to Projekt Mecha!
Tell us abit about yourself and your production company.
It's good to be involved. Much love. Well, I run my own independent multi production company called, I SUPPOSE PRODUCTIONS. We specialize in everything from film production, graphic design, event organizing, promotion & artist management. Been going at it since 2004 and things have never been so good. We have alot of crazy stuff going on this year!

2)How did you start getting to organize shows? What was it like when you organized your first show? Did it go smoothly?

I have been organizing shows since 2003. I was like 16 or 17 years old. I had a rap crew and we wanted to showcase our music, but we had no idea how to go about getting booked, so I decided to organize my own events. The first show I ever organized got canceled 1 day before showtime. It was a mini concert at a park gym. That was in early 2003 I believe. After that, I started organizing small shows at a local hot dog shop. Yup! Hip Hop and hot dogs! It doesn't get any better. Lol...

3)Has the journey with your productions company been an easy one over the years?
What were some of the challenges you faced?

Im very passionate about Hip Hop and Im a true product of the culture. I love all music in general and I love helping people and creating opportunities for others. With that being said, my journey has been amazing cause it all comes out naturally. The times have changed since I first started throwing shows, but Im one of the few promoters who have managed to ADJUST. Often, promoters get stuck in a time warp and they organize events that were DOPE a long time ago or aren't in the streets enough to know what's poppin. I started young and Im barely 25 and already have 10 years of experience. Im out on the streets every day so I know what people want and that has kept me consistent. Some of the challenges I've faced include partying too hard and slipping on my promotion, but that just motivates me to come harder the next time around. Lol.

4)You told me in an ealier convo we had,you did a tour in Europe, can you tell us more about that. How did you manage to pull off something like that?

Im part of a Hip Hop group called, RHYME ADDICTS. We're part of a booking agency overseas called KLH-MUSIC and wit their help, we have been able to start establishing our brand in Europe. XP, who is oneof the members in my group went out to Europe in March. He toured and rocked shows with the Gza of the Wu Tang. That's big for our brand. Im looking forward to touring Europe with the entire camp. It's gonna happen soon!

5)What are your goals for your production company for 2012?
I've been crazy busy these days! Just directed a music video for Jro of Tha Alkaholiks, a video for Mykill Miers, I-Man of the Mexikanz among other legends in the rap game, but besides that, I haven't been able to focus on the video production side of things. My focus is on throwing these shows and preserving the culture.

6)Do you have any venues where you usually organize your shows? Or is it a different venue for every show?

Im a Los Angeles based promoter so I keep all my events in LA or surrounding areas. I have different venues, depending on the event. The Terrace in Pasadena is like home to my shows right now. I started organizing a few outdoor festivals recently and im getting into organizing tours in High Schools, so Im excited. It ain't no fun if there isn't a challenge.

These are all young cats I wanna help promote so we gonna make some power moves! Im also planning a tour with my boys Kevlaar7 of the Wisemen and Bronze Nazareth and gonna try to get out to Europe soon! Besides that, Im gonna be performing alot. In just the next 2 weeks, I'll be rockin with Blu, Talib Kweli, Liknuts (Tha Liks and Beatnuts) and more. Things are gonna get crazy! TRUST ME!

My biggest piece of advice would be "Make sure you love Hip Hop." Without love for the culture, you won't last very long. The times change every so often and you must be able to adapt, but while you're trying to figure things out, your love for Hip Hop is whats gonna keep you inspired. I've been broke as hell and have gone through rough times where I couldn't find venues and my shows were getting empty, but my passion for Hip Hop kept me determined and inspired. You're not always gonna make alot of money...damn...some of you might not see a dime for a long long time, so without love for the art, you won't enjoy the struggle. Besides that, just keep at it. The haters will always be around to put you down, but ignore them and prove yourself. Make yourself happy. I've booked legends like KRS-ONE, Onyx, Pete Rock & CL Smooth, X Clan, Percee P, Chino XL, Crooked I, Jro of Tha Liks, Defari and countless others and I can do that all day, but my focus right now is on the new generation, the local cats who need that opportunity. It's not about making a quick buck, it's about changing lives, inspiring people and opening doors for those without keys!

12)Shoutouts before we wrap up this interview ?

I wanna give a shout out to all my fans and supporters! Without ya'll, I wouldn't be this strong! You guys are truly the backbone to my foundation. I appreciate the love and support. Special thanks to Projekt Mecha Magazine for reaching out and showing me love. Knowing people want to hear my story is life changing. Much respect. I would also like to send shout outs to my crew Rhyme Addicts, IM3 West, Big Twins, Infamous Mobb, Anthro Beats, Style Crafters, Yannick, KLH, Faktn Clothing, Street Product, Analigital, Too Ill Clothing, Abnormal Clothing, Phora, Nome One, Jro, Tha Alkaholiks, Crooked I, ASR Ent, The Terrace, Chinky Eyed, my family, friends and everyone who has been down with I Suppose productions since day one! BROTHERS! (JESSE PREWITT FEAT NICK CHRISTY)

I have been tattooing for about 5 years.

For as long as I can remember I have wanted to be "one of those guys" covered in tattoos
Most tattoo artist start out as an apprentice however the first shop I worked for I brought a client with me and tattooed right there for my interview. The shop owner was impressed with my style and artwork so he hired me on the spot and I started the next day as a tattoo artist-no apprenticing required. I am self taught and have been fortunate enough to be able to work with a lot of talented artists over the past 3 years that have taking the time to teach me along the way.
I got my first tattoo when I was 17 from my dads friend in my brothers bedroom.

I just recently did a Traditional Rock of Ages tattoo. It's my favorite style because of all the bold lines and bright colors.

I don't really have influences because I want my artwork to remain my own style. I do have a couple favorite artists Jeff Gogue, Derek Knoble because their styles are unique and their own...you can definitely pick their art out of a crowd.
The first tattoo I did was on my ex-girlfriends sister in her living room. It took me like 2 hours to complete something that it would take me about 20 minutes to do today. It ended up getting infected. My Mom had bought me some ink from a whole in the wall shop and i did not realize it was expired. It was an off brand that had no writing or expiration date on The bottle. That was definitely a learning experience all the way around.
I think the most important advice I can give to someone wanting to be a tattoo artist is to draw all the time is the most important thing ALWAYS!! Paint, draw anything that will make you better. If you are going for an apprenticeship at a reputable shop they will want to see art work that you have drawn in your portfolio not tattoos you have done out of your house.
There are a lot of tattoo artists out there so you want to make sure that your artwork is unique, do something that stands out and makes your artwork your own.
